A Night Filled with Light
The Mariam Society was the Charity of Choice for the First Annual LIT GALA in Toronto!
On Saturday, November 18th, 2023, Toronto was introduced to the First Annual Lit Gala Diwali Celebration, with all proceeds going to The Mariam Society!
Taking a fresh approach to Diwali, the Toronto Indo-Canadian Community wanted to create a signature event that celebrates its heritage while giving back. Hundreds came out for a night of glamour, beauty, and fun.
After months of meticulous planning, it was an unprescedented success! Guest were treated to delicious foods created by Chef Akshay Shastry, and danced the night away to the beats of DK Biks from New York City.
Guests also had an opportunity to learn more about the important work of the Mariam Society, and how they can support our goal of educating 200 girls living in poverty in rural India, in 2024.
When everything was tallied, the Lit Gala raised over $60,000 in support of the Mariam Society!
